George Toth is certified as a clinical hypnotherapist through the Wellness Institute , Issaquah, Washington and licensed psychotherapist through the University of the State of New York He is a member of multiple hypnotherapy and psychotherapy organizations world-wide, including the National Guild of Hypnotists, AFL-CIO Local #104, a former board member of the International Conference for the Advanced Practice of Clinical Social Workers (ICAPP), member of the New York State Society of Clinical Social Workers, (NYSSCSW), and board certified Diplomate for the Academy of Certified Social Workers, (ACSW), National Association of Social Workers, (NASW). He is also is certified as Public School Teacher, (Permanent), with the University of the State of New York, Education Department, certification area: School Social Worker. George is director and co-founder with his wife, Diana, of AlternativeCounselingNY.com, a private practice in Cornwall, New York.
George is a regular presenter at the National Guild of Hypnotists Annual Convention and Educational Conference, held in Marlboro, Massachusetts. With more than fifty years of experience in the field of professional social work, George maintains a thriving private psychotherapy and hypnosis practice, with two offices in the Hudson Valley, New York. He has trained students locally, nationally, and world-wide, as Adjunct Professor of Mental Health Counseling for Long Island University, teaching at Mount Saint Mary College, Saint Thomas of Aquinas College, Boston University, Catholic University, University of Maryland, and the United States Armed Forces Institute. He offers abundant post graduate and continuing education coursework for those who wish to specialize and/or broaden their practice. George is in high demand as a dynamic lecturer who regularly presents public education seminars locally to schools, organizations, and corporate venues. George has facilitated numerous advanced trainings internationally in Iceland, Mexico, Canada, and Germany, as well as throughout the United States. He has been featured on radio and television, and in print, including the Cornwall Local, Pointer View, Times Herald Record, and Long Beach Island Press.
One of the most prolific authors in contemporary self-help and healing practice, George has written Marble Mindfulness, a book about using a unique method of assessing dynamics in families by using marbles. Also, a book on relationships in families, chronicling his decades of experience of communication between children and adults, called How to Hypnotize Your Grandchildren. His award-winning book, Seashell Therapy, is the only known work in his profession promoting unique and innovative healing methods with seashells. He has additionally written numerous articles for Natural Awakenings Magazine on self- help and healing. He also presented various holistic programs on Connections, with Deborah Turner, on RocklandWorldRadio.com. He appeared several times as family therapist on Discovery Channel’s American Chopper television series, featuring Mikey Tuetul and Paul Teutul Senior, of Orange County Choppers.
